Matthew H. Hearne was appointed Associate Circuit Judge in 2019 by Gov. Michael Parson. Hearne graduated from Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. He earned his law degree from The University of Toledo in 1992.
Prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Hearne worked for the Missouri State Public Defender's office for several years and then went into private practice. Judge Hearne remained in private practice for 25 years, handling civil, criminal and domestic cases in both state and federal courts including the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit.
Judge Hearne lives in St. Louis County with his family.
