The Family Court of St. Louis County is open subject to the Order of the Missouri Supreme Court dated March 22, 2020. Any Family Court proceedings conducted in-person shall be limited to the attorneys, parties, witnesses, security officers, and other individuals necessary to the proceedings as determined by the judge presiding over the proceedings. All family court proceedings are subject to the provisions set forth below. This COVID-19 protocol shall remain in effect through the start of business on April 17, 2020. For settings after April 3, 2020, check the individual Division web page. This protocol may be amended as necessary.

Juvenile Division:

Protective Custody, Detention, Certifications, and any cases that involve a detained juvenile will continue to be heard as scheduled. If your case is continued, you will be notified of your next court date.

Orders of Protection:

Anyone with a case on the Adult Abuse docket will be notified if your court date has changed. If you were granted an ex parte order of protection, that Order will remain in effect until your next court date.

Settlement Conferences:

All settlement, status, and pre-trial conferences will not be held the weeks of March 23 and March 30, 2020. For settings after April 3, 2020, check the division’s web page.

If any party believes there is an urgent issue that must be heard, contact the division clerk for a setting.

Motions:

All motions shall be submitted on the pleadings. In cases involving a TRO, a PDL involving custody and motions for contempt contact the division clerk for a setting.

Trials and Non-Custody PDL’s:

There will be no trials or non-custody PDL’s scheduled during the weeks prior to April 3, 2020. These matters will be rescheduled by the individual divisions.

DRS/Exchange Center and Visitation:

Parent Education:

The requirement that parties complete the parent education program in person is suspended until further order of the court. Completion of the on-line program entitled “Missouri Extension Online, Focus with Kids” will satisfy the parent education requirement on a temporary basis. Resource Center:

The Resource Center is closed until April 17, 2020. You may still complete your packet online at www.selfrepresent.mo.gov. New pleadings may be filed at the Office of the Circuit Clerk with your filing fee.
