Scott Kiefer appointed Interim Sheriff in St. Louis County
CLAYTON, MO – Sept. 25, 2019 – Scott Kiefer has been appointed Interim Sheriff of St. Louis County by Director of Judicial Administration, Paul Fox. Kiefer begins his new assignment Oct. 1, 2019, due to the retirement of St. Louis County Sheriff Jim Buckles, who had held the job since 2006.
Kiefer graduated from University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Political
Science and a minor in History. Prior to his appointment, Kiefer worked as a federal contractor to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services as a Freedom of Information – Privacy Act Analyst.
He joined the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office in 2011. During his eight years with the Sheriff’s Office, Kiefer has steadily advanced to a variety of positions of increasing responsibility including; Administrative Deputy Sheriff, Civil Process Deputy Sheriff, Office Services Coordinator, Administrative Deputy Sheriff Supervisor, and finally culminating in his appointment as Chief Deputy
Sheriff in 2017.
Kiefer lives in St. Charles County with his family.
