Commissioner for 21st  Judicial Circuit


CLAYTON, MO August 23, 2019 – Misty A. Watson has been appointed by Probate Circuit Judge Ellen Levy to a four-year term as Deputy Probate Commissioner for the 21st Judicial Circuit. Prior to her appointment, Watson was a shareholder and member of the executive committee at Danna McKitrick, P.C. She received her LL.M. in Taxation and her J.D. from Washington University School of Law.

Watson has more than 13 years of experience in trusts, estates, guardianships, and special
needs trusts. Before attending law school, Watson was a social worker who facilitated special needs adoptions.

“People find themselves in probate court often due to circumstances beyond their control,” Watson said. “I am humbled to serve the people of St. Louis County as the next Probate Deputy Commissioner.”

Watson received the 2019 Publico Pro Bono Award from the Missouri Bar.  She was the Washington University School of Law Women’s Law Caucus International Women’s Day 2013 Celebration Honoree and received the John R. Essner Award for pro bono work through Legal Services of Eastern Missouri. Watson currently serves on the board of the Foster and Adoptive Care Coalition.
