Jason D. Dodson

Family Court

Jason D. Dodson was appointed associate circuit judge on March 31, 2016, by Gov. Jeremiah W. "Jay" Nixon.

He received his Bachelor of Arts with honors in philosophy from Bates College in Lewiston, ME, in 1992, and his law degree from Washington University School of Law in 1996, where he received The Order of Barristers and Pro Bono Bronze Medal commendations.

Judge Dodson spent the early portion of his career in private practice litigating a variety of civil cases. Before his appointment to the bench, he spent 10 years at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri where he acted as managing attorney of its domestic violence family law unit, known as the Lasting Solutions Program, beginning in 2008. He is an avid proponent of pro bono service to those who need legal help but cannot afford it.

Judge Dodson served two terms on the Missouri Child Support Guidelines Review Subcommittee. Since 2017, he has served on the Missouri Supreme Court's Committee on Access to Family Courts. He is a member of the Missouri Bar, American Bar Association, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, St. Louis County Bar, Women Lawyers' Association and the Mound City Bar Association.

Judge Dodson lives in St. Louis County with his family.
